1. Pengertian

Recount text adalah teks yang menceritakan kembali pengalaman atau kejadian di masa lalu secara berurutan. Tujuannya untuk memberi informasi atau menghibur pembaca dengan kisah nyata yang sudah terjadi.

Biasanya menggunakan past tense (verb 2).

2. Tujuan Recount Text

Tujuan utamanya yaitu:

1. Menceritakan pengalaman pribadi di masa lalu.

2. Menginformasikan suatu peristiwa atau kejadian nyata.

3. Menghibur pembaca melalui cerita nyata yang menarik.

3. Generic Structure (Struktur Umum)

Recount text memiliki 3 bagian utama:

Bagian Keterangan

Orientation Pengenalan tokoh, tempat, dan waktu kejadian.

Events Urutan peristiwa yang terjadi secara kronologis.

Re-orientation Penutup cerita, biasanya berisi kesimpulan atau perasaan penulis tentang kejadian itu.

4. Ciri-ciri Kebahasaan (Language Features)

Menggunakan past tense (went, saw, was, were, did, dll).

Menggunakan kata sambung waktu: then, after that, finally, before, when.

Menggunakan kata ganti orang: I, we, they, he, she.

Mengandung kata kerja aksi (action verbs): played, visited, watched, climbed.

Title: My Holiday in Bali

Orientation:

Last year, my family and I went to Bali for our holiday. We stayed there for five days.

Events:

On the first day, we visited Kuta Beach and watched a beautiful sunset. The next day, we went to Ubud and saw many traditional dances. On the third day, we bought some souvenirs in Sukawati Market. We also tried some delicious Balinese food.

Re-orientation:

It was a wonderful holiday. I will never forget my trip to Bali.
